Chances are your feeling pretty shit about having to wear a facemask when leaving the house. If makeup helps you to feel more confident and beautiful then don’t let this crazy world stop you. Here are my top 5 tips for wearing makeup with face masks.
Ditch the foundation
Seeing as half of your face will be covered with a mask now is the perfect time to go foundation free. You will find that the areas which usually need more coverage will be covered by your mask. Instead focus on your undereyes with a liquid concealer. I like to use the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer or Maybeline Fit me concealer.
Wow you brows
One thing you will notice when using face masks is just how much we rely on facial expressions when communicating with others. As we say goodbye to the simple smile the focus is moved to our eyes and brows. To fill in your brows use either a pencil or a powder and small brush strokes to mimic hairs. Apply lightly at the start of your brow and heavier towards the tip.
Enhance your eyes
With more time at home why not get creative and try something new with your eye makeup. To quickly glam up your lids first apply an eyeshadow base all over the lid and then gently press on some loose shimmer. Lately I’ve been loving the ‘Gorgeous Cosmetics’ iprime eyeshadow base and shimmer dust.
Lash it up
While all the lash techs are currently closed lash extensions are off the cards. The next best thing is reusable false lashes. Always remember to trim your lashes to fit your eyes before applying and give the lash glue time to get tacky. Now more than ever its important to support Australian made which is one of the reasons I love Runway Rooms false lashes. They have a thin comfortable lash band, are reusable and come with their own latex free glue.
Save you skin
When wearing face masks for long periods of time its more than likely that your skin will get irritated. To minimize any breakouts wear a light moisturizer instead of makeup under where your mask sits. Always make sure to always wash your hands before putting on or taking off your mask and at the end of the day cleanse your skin with a gentle cleanser. Who’s tried the new Garnier Rosewater Micellar?
Let me know if you have switched up your makeup routine since wearing a facemask? Fingers crossed masks won’t be around for too much longer!
